Jolie's attorney, James H. Simons, confirmed that one of Hollywood's most famous couples has reached an agreement. According to him, the actress is "exhausted but feels relieved" as they have finally come to this decision.
However, the court documents have not yet been filed, and the judge still needs to sign the agreement.
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 after 12 years of being together. She had alleged physical abuse by the actor. In 2019, the judge announced that they were divorced, but the division of property and child custody needed to be resolved separately.
Shortly after, the judge made a ruling that included joint custody of their children, but the actress filed to have him removed from the case due to an undisclosed conflict of interest. As a result, the process had to start over.
Jolie and Pitt began dating in 2004 after portraying a married couple in the film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," but they only tied the knot in 2014. They have six children together.
