Losses of Ukraine

On February 25, 2024, President Volodymyr Zelensky first disclosed the losses of the Ukrainian army: according to him, over the two years of full-scale war, 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died. He did not disclose the number of wounded, so that Russia would not know how many personnel Ukraine has on the battlefield.

Previously, Kyiv did not disclose data on the losses among its servicemen. The Ministry of Defense stated that information regarding the number of fallen Ukrainian soldiers would remain classified until the end of martial law.

According to calculations by the project "Book of Memory of the Fallen for Ukraine," published in mid-November 2023, at least 30,000 Ukrainian fighters have died since February 24, 2022. Additionally, nearly 100,000 military personnel have been wounded, but most of them were either in service or were expected to return to it soon.
