The current Speaker of the House, Republican Mike Johnson, has received a nomination for re-election. He shares Trump's views on mass deportations, tax cuts, reducing the number of federal employees, and projecting a stronger image of the U.S. abroad.

Together, Johnson has been working on what he calls an ambitious 100-day agenda that will be put into action after Trump takes office.

The advocacy group "Republicans for Ukraine," aimed at encouraging support for Kyiv from the party, rated Johnson with an F, indicating that his support for Ukraine is considered very low. His statements are viewed by advocates as anti-Ukrainian.

For a long time, House Republicans led by Johnson blocked a bill that would provide aid to Ukraine. As a result, Ukraine fought against Russia for several months without U.S. support.
