Генеральная ассамблея ООН обсудит две резолюции по войне в Украине: одну от 58 стран и другую от США.

This is reported by “Ukrinform” and Associated Press.

According to the Ukrainian news agency, the collective project has been initiated by 58 countries. They urge Russia to "immediately, fully, and unconditionally withdraw all its armed forces from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders."

Among the authors are all member states of the European Union, including Hungary and Slovakia, as well as the vast majority of other European nations, specifically the United Kingdom, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Georgia, along with Canada, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Liberia, Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, Palau, and others.

At the same time, AP reports that The United States has proposed its own UN resolution. The brief document acknowledges the "tragic loss of life during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict" and "calls for an immediate end to the conflict and further implementation of lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia."

Recently, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that "the time has come to commit to ending the war." He mentioned that "while challenges may arise, the goal of lasting peace remains achievable" and that through the resolution "we affirm that this conflict is horrific, that the UN can assist in its resolution, and that peace is possible."

The Russian ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, told reporters that the U.S. resolution is a "positive step."

Earlier, the Washington Post, citing its own sources, reported that the U.S. urged Ukrainian authorities to withdraw the UN resolution condemning Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and replace it with a "softer" statement.
