This is mentioned in the official statement from "Khortytsia".
DeepState also reported that leaving Ukrainian troops encircled will "forever weigh on the conscience of those responsible for this mistake."
Meanwhile, the troop grouping announced that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, decided to withdraw the Defense Forces from the Uspenivka area to avoid encirclement. They allegedly managed to carry out the necessary maneuvers and continue their tasks along the Kurakhove — Konstantynivske line.
“The spread of unverified and unreliable information harms the execution of tasks by the Defense Forces of Ukraine, being actively disseminated by the information resources of the aggressor country and fully aligning with the enemy's narratives”, the "Khortytsia" representatives stated.
On December 12, analysts from the DeepState project wrote about the deteriorating situation around the "Uspenivka Pocket" — the term they used to describe the situation near Uspenivka, Hanhivka, Trudove, and Romanivka.
According to the analysts, the Russians are actively storming Uspenivka, and the Defense Forces are struggling to completely dislodge them. Furthermore, the occupiers can maneuver between Uspenivka and Hanhivka, effectively isolating the Ukrainian units in this "pocket."
DeepState accused the operational-tactical grouping "Donetsk" of inaction: “The enemy is occupying an increasingly larger area directly in Uspenivka, risking encircling and leaving the Defense Forces units in Hanhivka, Uspenivka, Trudove, Vesele Hai, and Romanivka”.
Sources from hromadske among the units in this frontline section also spoke of a critical situation in the "pocket," nearing encirclement, and expressed outrage over the actions of the high command.
Meanwhile, "Khortytsia" explained that the operation being carried out by Ukrainian units involves “maximally exhausting the enemy, destroying their resources, and preserving our personnel”.
According to FT, the commander of the operational-tactical group "Donetsk," Oleksandr Lutsenko, was dismissed following the rapid advance of Russian occupation forces towards Pokrovsk. Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi has been appointed to this position.
