On December 14, in Lviv, around 5:25 PM, an accident occurred on Podvalna Street near the public transport stop by the book market, where a 50-year-old man was struck by a tram.

This was reported by the Lviv City Council.

The victim was hospitalized in serious condition with the amputation of both legs.

"The man is alive, but both legs are severely injured. An ambulance arrived promptly at the scene and transported the victim to the hospital. His condition is serious. Blood tests for alcohol and drug content were also conducted at the hospital," the statement said.

Preliminarily, there was no snow at the stop, so weather conditions were not a factor in the incident. Law enforcement is investigating the details of the accident.
