In Kyiv, a drunk Hyundai driver caused a double accident, injuring a woman (photo included).

On Friday, February 21, a drunk driver of a Hyundai was apprehended in Kyiv after causing a double accident that resulted in injuries to a woman.

This was reported by the Kyiv police communication department.

The traffic incident occurred yesterday around 10:45 AM on Kubanska Street in the Desnyansky district. A forensic investigative team, patrol officers, and medical personnel were present at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 30-year-old driver of the car, while under the influence (1.39 promille), lost control and first collided with a bus that was empty and stopped at a bus stop, and then with an Iveco lift truck that was moving in the same direction.

As a result of the traffic accident, a 28-year-old passenger in the Hyundai sustained injuries and was hospitalized with a broken arm. The perpetrator of the incident was detained by investigators under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

A criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by individuals under the influence of alcohol. The suspect has been informed of the charges, and a decision is being made regarding the measure of restraint.

The penalty for this article provides for imprisonment for up to three years, along with a ban on operating vehicles for a period of three to five years.
