According to the results of 2024, Lviv region has emerged as the leader in the number of used passenger cars imported from abroad. Residents of the region purchased 26,930 vehicles, with the Volkswagen Golf being the most sought-after model, highlighting its popularity among a wide range of consumers.
The top five regions with the highest volume of used car imports also included:
- Kiev (19,374 cars);
- Kiev region (14,756 cars);
- Vinnytsia region (13,416 cars);
- Dnipropetrovsk region (12,888 cars).
Interestingly, in three out of the five leading regions – Lviv, Kiev, and Vinnytsia – the most popular model was the Volkswagen Golf. However, in Kiev, the electric vehicle TESLA Model Y is also in high demand, indicating a growing interest among Ukrainians in environmentally friendly transportation. In Dnipropetrovsk region, the best-selling model was the French hatchback RENAULT Megane.
Estimated prices for popular used car models can vary significantly based on the year of manufacture, mileage, equipment, and overall condition. Here is an approximate price range for some of them:
- Volkswagen Golf:
- From $900 (1984 model)
- Up to $17,500 (2018 model after an accident, but fully equipped)
- TESLA Model Y:
- From $14,900
- Up to $58,000
- Renault Megane:
- From $799
- Up to $18,900
As we can see, the price of a used car in Ukraine can vary considerably even for the same model. It is advisable to thoroughly check the car's condition, its history, and compare prices for similar offers in the market before making a purchase.
