A woman was fatally struck by a Mercedes near Mykolaiv: police are seeking witnesses to the incident.

On Monday, December 16, at approximately 4:50 PM, on the N-11 highway "Dnipro – Mykolaiv," near the village of Voskresenske in the Mykolaiv region, a driver of a Mercedes Benz Sprinter struck a pedestrian.

This information was reported by the communication department of the Mykolaiv police.

The driver hit a 55-year-old woman who was crossing the roadway at an unmarked location. The victim succumbed to her injuries.

In connection with this incident, investigators have initiated a criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses "Violating traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by individuals managing vehicles, resulting in the death of the victim."

Police investigators are determining the circumstances and causes of the incident.
