Accident involving an overturned ambulance in Mykolaiv region: police provide details

As a result of the accident, during which an ambulance vehicle overturned, two passengers aged 30 and 47 sustained injuries of varying severity and were transported to a medical facility. The other participants in the incident refused hospitalization. At the time of the accident, there were no passengers in the "Ruta" minibus.

This was reported by the communication department of the Mykolaiv region police.

The police clarified that the road traffic incident involving the Ruta minibus and UAZ occurred on January 12 at approximately 16:00 on the M-14 highway "Odesa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk" near the village of Mykolaivske in the Shevchenkove community of the Mykolaiv district.

As a result of the collision, the UAZ overturned. Rescuers from the State Emergency Service extricated the injured men from the vehicle.

In connection with the incident, investigators have initiated a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for "Violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons managing vehicles."

The penalty for this article may include up to three years of restriction of freedom and deprivation of the right to operate vehicles for up to three years.

The police are working to establish all the circumstances and causes of the incident.
