In the heart of Dnipro, there’s an unusual "homeless" street-bridge: discover its unique appearance.

Every city possesses its own unique atmosphere, shaped not only by its landmarks but also by streets steeped in unusual history. Previously, we shared the story of the shortest street in Kyiv. Now, we invite you to journey to Dnipro and take a virtual stroll along one of the city's most extraordinary streets — Elena Blavatskaya Street. What makes it remarkable is the absence of any buildings, yet it features a bridge.

History and Features of Blavatskaya Street

Elena Blavatskaya Street, formerly known as Shcherbytsky and Nova, emerged on the Dnipro map in the mid-1920s. It became the shortest route connecting two major avenues: Dmytro Yavornytsky (formerly Karl Marx) and Oleksandr Pol (formerly Kirov Avenue). Today, it serves as a pedestrian zone, although it was once a busy thoroughfare for vehicles.

The street's uniqueness lies in its lack of buildings. It runs above the territory of Hlobus Park, with its central feature being a single-arch reinforced concrete bridge constructed between 1925 and 1926.

The construction of the bridge necessitated the creation of high ramps and staircases, which added new attractions to Hlobus Park. From here, one can enjoy views of the park: to the right, the Summer Theater shaped like a shell and the amusement park are visible, while to the left, you'll find the "Little Prince" fountain and a children's railway.

Hidden beneath the bridge are even more intriguing elements. Tunnels for the children's railway run along both sides of the structure, although they are not visible from the bridge.
