Ukrainians express concerns about mobile internet quality: here's what "Kyivstar," Vodafone, and Lifecell have to say.

On January 8, Ukrainian mobile operator users began reporting a slowdown in mobile internet performance, particularly noticeable in the afternoon.

"Telegraph" reached out to popular Ukrainian providers for comments. They attributed the issue to an increase in load on the base stations.

The operator "Kyivstar" did not provide a response, while Vodafone stated that it is necessary to first understand the reasons behind such changes.

Lifecell provided a clear explanation, noting that in the afternoon, there is typically an increase in the number of users streaming media and using the network for work and entertainment. This, in turn, increases the load on the base stations, causing a drop in connection speed. This effect is especially pronounced in densely populated areas.

Typically, in cases of internet issues, mobile operators recommend lowering the quality of streamed videos or avoiding them altogether, disabling auto-downloads of media in messengers, and refraining from using video calls.

As previously reported, "Kyivstar" significantly raised its communication prices on December 20, with rates increasing by an average of 25%, which is a noticeable difference for users.

However, the tariff hikes also affected other mobile service operators, particularly with a substantial increase in the cost of Vodafone's services.
