Trump's advisor proposed lowering the mobilization age in Ukraine, to which a military expert responded.

The future administration in Washington is interested in how Ukraine plans to stabilize the front line. They believe this will be impossible without lowering the mobilization age.

This was stated by Mike Waltz, a future advisor on national security to President Donald Trump, during a broadcast on ABC. He is convinced that Ukraine will not be able to stabilize the front without addressing the personnel issue.

He also pointed out that the current mobilization age in Ukraine is 26 years old (he presumably meant 25 years), not 18. Waltz added that by lowering the mobilization age, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) could recruit "hundreds of thousands of new soldiers."

"They have certainly fought bravely. They have taken a very noble and tough position, but we need to see how the issue of manpower shortages is resolved. It's not just about ammunition or writing new checks; it's about stabilizing the front so we can reach some agreement," he said.

His comments were already responded to by military and political analyst Alexander Kovalenko. According to him, even if the age is lowered and the AFU recruits 100,000 new conscripts, they will need to be armed, and over 1300 tanks, more than 4000 combat vehicles, and 1500 pieces of artillery will have to be sourced for their supply.

Otherwise, Kovalenko warns, these new units will quickly suffer enormous losses and become non-combat capable.

"Mike Waltz is not talking about increasing military aid to Ukraine. Mike Waltz is not mentioning additional funding for Ukraine to enhance mobilization. Mike Waltz is saying that Ukrainians need to send inexperienced young boys into the meat grinder. It's that simple," he said.

As previously reported, Ukrainian MP from the "Servant of the People" faction Halyna Yanchenko stated that it is currently not advisable to lower the mobilization age. Young people should not be sent to the front because the Defense Forces are not sufficiently equipped with the necessary amount of weapons, ammunition, and equipment.
