Russian occupiers launched an attack on Ukraine using strike drones on the night of January 24. As a result of the assault, drone debris fell onto a high-rise building in the settlement of Hlevakha, igniting a fire. Additionally, remnants of another drone fell on a private house in a different settlement, leading to fatalities in both incidents.
This was reported by the Kyiv regional military administration. It was noted that the drone debris destroyed several apartments in the 10-story building, resulting in the death of a 36-year-old man. Another individual lost their life due to the fire in the private home.
"As a result of the debris from the downed target falling in one of the settlements of the region, a fire occurred in a 10-story residential building affecting several apartments. Damage to the facade on the 6th to 9th floors is recorded… The deceased was found at the fire in the private house due to the fall of the downed target's debris. Currently, the fire has been extinguished. The second victim is a 36-year-old man from another settlement, where a residential 10-story building was damaged.", the report states.
Additionally, there are injured individuals as a result of the attack—a 26-year-old man who suffered respiratory burns and a 38-year-old woman experiencing acute stress reaction. The status of other victims is being clarified.
"The fire has been extinguished. Currently, a point of invincibility is operating near the damaged high-rise building for residents. A tent with water and hot beverages has also been set up on-site. Psychologists are working with the people.", the KOVA added.
It is worth noting that on the evening of January 22, Russian occupiers conducted a massive drone strike on Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the attack, most drones were destroyed; however, five UAVs struck an infrastructure facility.
As reported by "Telegraph", on the evening of January 21, Russians launched an attack on Mykolaiv using drones. And in the night leading into Saturday, January 18, the enemy attacked Ukraine with drones, and early in the morning—ballistic missiles. Several explosions were heard in Kyiv, and two explosions were reported in Zaporizhzhia, with loud noises also heard in Dnipropetrovsk. As a result of the enemy shelling in Kyiv, four people were killed, while ten individuals were injured in Zaporizhzhia.
