The National Joint Stock Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" will spend nearly 5 million hryvnias (around 100 thousand US dollars) on the process of finding a new chairman for the company. The search will be conducted through a recruiting agency.
This was reported by journalist Yuriy Doshchatov. He attached a relevant screenshot from the Prozorro system to his message.
"Naftogaz of Ukraine has initiated the procedure to find a replacement for the company’s head. The search for a recruiting agency has already begun, which will specifically look for candidates for the position of chairman of the board of Naftogaz — the announcement has been posted in the Prozorro system. The expected cost of the service for finding candidates amounts to 4.569 million UAH. Naftogaz hopes that the recruiting agency will be selected by January 22", — he wrote.
The search for a new chairman is likely linked to the fact that on December 3, the Verkhovna Rada supported a new appointment in the Government. Members of Parliament voted for the candidacy of Oleksiy Chernyshov for the position of Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of National Unity. Before his appointment, Chernyshov headed the board of Naftogaz, but it was planned that he would temporarily retain his previous position.
By the way, it’s worth noting that an increase in utility tariffs in Ukraine is quite likely in the upcoming year of 2025. According to forecasts from the National Bank of Ukraine, this will affect prices for gas, heating, and hot water.
