Are preparations underway for Trump's arrival? The U.S. is looking to change the leader responsible for military supply needs in Ukraine.

On Wednesday, January 8, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed confidence that a future Trump administration would provide Ukraine with the best conditions for a peace agreement with Russia.

Blinken stated this during a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot in Paris. He added that the U.S. will continue to send military aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces until the last day of Joe Biden's administration.

Washington believes in the ongoing support from other allies of Kyiv. Blinken also expressed confidence that France will become one of the leaders in aiding Ukraine with its military needs.

"France has been the most promising supporter in countering the ongoing aggression from Russia. Putin attempted to erase Ukraine from the map, but he has not succeeded. We have facilitated bilateral agreements between France and Ukraine to help open French businesses in Ukraine for the future prosperity of Ukrainian democracy," he said.

French Assistance to Ukraine

It is worth noting that France has been actively providing military assistance to Ukraine since the onset of the full-scale war. In particular, Paris is supplying long-range SCALP missiles to Ukrainian defenders.

The most pressing issue currently is the use of such missiles for strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces deep into Russian territory. However, French authorities have yet to decide whether to allow Ukraine to use SCALP in this manner.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported on whether Trump's return to power would affect the intensity of the war in Ukraine.
