"Let's not kid ourselves": Macron explained when the war in Ukraine might come to an end.

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, stated that the war in Ukraine will not end anytime soon and urged European countries to increase their weapons production.

"The war in Ukraine will not end tomorrow or the day after," Macron declared during his annual address to French military personnel in the city of Cesson-Sévigné. This was reported by the local publication Le Monde.

The French President outlined two key tasks for Ukraine's international partners:

  • currently – to enable Ukraine to negotiate from a position of strength;
  • after hostilities cease, to provide Ukraine with guarantees against the resumption of war on its territory.

Macron emphasized that Europe needs to ramp up its weapons production as quickly as possible.

"In a world where rules disappear and arsenals are filled, we must go further and faster. We need to change the scale, move to more joint programs, and select European champions," he stressed. "Let’s not deceive ourselves," Macron said during Donald Trump's inauguration, who promised to end the war within 24 hours.

Additionally, "Telegraph" previously reported that Newsweek shared forecasts regarding Ukraine. It is claimed that after the inauguration, Trump will exert pressure on both sides to seek a compromise.
