Zelensky was surprised by Litvinenko's statements regarding the number of soldiers planned for mobilization.

The president stated this in an interview with "Ukrainian Radio."

He emphasized that 500,000 people were not called up after the law was enacted, but the exact number cannot be disclosed according to Zelensky: “If I tell you frankly how many were mobilized after this law... Do I know — yes. Is it enough — no.”

At the same time, Litvinenko's statement about plans to mobilize more than 160,000 men "surprised" him.

“I am surprised by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council for spreading information about what was and what will be,” Zelensky said.

Recall that during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada on October 29, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Litvinenko stated that mobilizing another 160,000 people would allow the units to be staffed up to 85%. According to him, 1 million 50 thousand citizens have already been called up to the Defense Forces.

It is noteworthy that shortly after the mobilization law came into effect, President Zelensky mentioned that mobilization in Ukraine has increased. Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation, and Reintegration Ruslan Gorbenko noted that this year it would be possible to mobilize 120,000 people.

In the meantime, MP Roman Kostenko recently stated that the level of mobilization has decreased after several months of the law's implementation. Therefore, he believes that “radical” measures need to be taken — for example, lowering the conscription age.
