Zelensky invited Rubio to Ukraine after his remarks about pushing the country back a century.

President Zelensky stated this in an interview with Associated Press.

In response to Rubio's comments that Ukraine is supposedly being returned "100 years back", the Ukrainian president pointed out that the Russian bombardments are destroying Ukraine's energy system, and many Ukrainians are fleeing abroad.

Zelensky believes that the U.S. Secretary of State should first visit Ukraine to witness the devastation caused by Russia. However, during such a visit, he would also be able to see what the Ukrainian people have done "for the security of the world."

It is worth noting that this is not the first time the Ukrainian president has invited foreign politicians to Ukraine to observe the situation firsthand.

Back in 2022, he invited French President Emmanuel Macron to see the atrocities committed by the occupiers after he refused to acknowledge the genocide of Ukrainians.

Recall that Rubio advocates for both Russia and Ukraine to make concessions to resolve the war in order to achieve peace. At the same time, he stated that the Trump administration aims not only for an end to the Russian-Ukrainian war but also to ensure that it does not recur in 2-4 years.
