Zelensky on Trump and Putin's talks about Ukraine without Kyiv's involvement: This is extremely dangerous.

He stated this in an interview with the Associated Press.

This is how the Ukrainian president responded to Trump's recent remark that he is having a "very serious discussion" with Russia regarding the end of the war, without clarifying what he meant.

According to Zelensky, the U.S. and Russia may have relations with each other, "but discussing Ukraine without us is dangerous for everyone." He believes he should be the first to talk to the American president, and only then should contacts with the Russians take place.

"And I would like to see the United States, Ukraine, and the Russians at the negotiation table. ... And, to be honest, the voice of the European Union should also be present. I think that would be fair and effective. But how it will turn out? I don't know." he said.

His team has already been in touch with the Trump administration, but these discussions are taking place at a "general level," so he is expecting in-person meetings.

He also commented on the postponement of Trump's special representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker's visit, which was scheduled for early January. According to Zelensky, it was delayed "for legal reasons."
