The Director of the Department of Urban Mobility and Street Infrastructure, Oleg Zabarilo, stated that as part of the EBRD project, Lviv has purchased 50 trolleybuses, updated the depot on Promyslova, and expanded the contact network on Kulparkivska.
"With the saved funds, we retrofitted 10 trolleybuses for autonomous operation. The cost of modernization for one is 900 thousand euros," he said.
At the same time, driver Yaroslav, who has 20 years of experience, mentioned that these trolleybuses can travel up to 15 km without a contact network, which will help avoid delays. They are currently considering launching autonomous trolleybuses on route 23 or 25.
We remind you that recently, Lviv's mayor Andriy Sadovyi announced the arrival of 45 new buses in the city.
