On Tuesday, November 5, on the N-11 highway "Dnepr-Nikolaev" near the village of Novopoltavka, a collision occurred between a Volvo XC 90 and a VAZ-2106.
This was reported by the press service of the Nikolaev region police.
The accident took place at 11:15. The driver of the Volvo XC 90 was a 60-year-old man, while the VAZ was driven by a 41-year-old man. As a result of the collision, the VAZ-2106 veered off the roadway and overturned.
Following the incident, both drivers and two minor passengers in the VAZ,
an 11-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were taken to a medical facility with varying degrees of injuries.
Investigators have initiated a criminal case under part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for "Violating traffic safety rules or the operation of vehicles by persons in control of vehicles".
The penalty for this article includes up to three years of restriction of liberty, along with a ban on driving vehicles for up to three years.
Police are establishing all circumstances and causes of the incident.
