In Mykolaiv region, a cyclist was killed under the wheels of a Volkswagen.
On Thursday, November 21, at 5:10 PM, on the Dnipro-Nikolaev highway near the city of Novyi Buh, a Volkswagen Crafter vehicle, driven by a 43-year-old man, struck a 53-year-old cyclist.
This was reported by the press service of the police.
The cyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. Police investigators are seeking witnesses to the incident.
The police have initiated a criminal case under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to "Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by individuals managing transport."
The penalty for this article can reach up to eight years of imprisonment, along with a ban on operating vehicles for up to three years. The police are determining all the circumstances and causes of the accident.
