This is mentioned in the resolution of the NATO PA, as well as in the statements of the people's deputy and head of the Ukrainian delegation Egor Chernev.
The document suggests providing Ukraine with all necessary resources, particularly medium-range missiles, to defend against and deter further aggression from Russia.
According to Chernev, these are missiles with a range of 1000-5500 kilometers, capable of striking deep into enemy territory. Among these are Tomahawk missiles.
“The Ukrainian delegation succeeded in convincing our Western colleagues to support my proposal and include this point in the resolution of the upcoming Assembly session,” the deputy stated, explaining that this clause in the resolution “creates a legal basis” for NATO member states to decide on transferring such missiles.
Additionally, the resolution calls for the intensification of “political and practical efforts” for the “swift” invitation of Ukraine to NATO, supporting President Volodymyr Zelensky's Plan for Victory, the “peace formula,” and “staying true to the principle of ‘nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.’”
Earlier, the New York Times, citing U.S. officials, reported that Zelensky secretly requested long-range Tomahawk missiles from allies as part of his Plan for Victory for his allies.
The president later confirmed that this was confidential information between Kyiv and the White House. He expressed outrage over the media revealing it.
It should be noted that the U.S. has granted Ukraine permission to strike deep into Russian territory with its missiles. Some Ukrainian media outlets reported that Ukraine has already used American ATACMS missiles to target an arsenal near the city of Karachev in the Bryansk region.
