The Russian Foreign Ministry labeled Zelensky as a "maniac" due to his comments regarding nuclear weapons.

She wrote about this on her Telegram channel.

According to her, with such statements, Zelensky “views the planet as an object of his sick fantasies”.

“These statements from Zelensky (editor's note) prove that for him, nuclear power plants are not a source of peaceful energy, but rather dirty nuclear weapons necessary for the ‘Kyiv regime’ to use as leverage”, added Zakharova.

Recall that earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky stated that if the process of Ukraine's accession to NATO drags on “for years and decades” not due to Ukraine's fault, then Western partners should provide nuclear weapons.

“Will they give us missiles in such quantities that we could stop Russia? I am not sure. (…) And what missiles could stop Russia's nuclear missiles? That is a rhetorical question. So let’s put it this way — give us back nuclear weapons”, said the Ukrainian president.
