Explosions in Kharkiv occurred on the night of Wednesday, February 26, as Russians launched attacks on the city with "Shahed" drones, one of which struck an apartment on the second floor of a high-rise building in the Kyiv district. Additionally, Kyiv was under attack last night.
As reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov at 0:21, there were three strikes in the city, specifically in the Shevchenkivskyi and Kyiv districts. He soon updated the situation with information about another hit. Two individuals have been reported injured in the Kyiv district.
According to the mayor, as he told Novosti.LIVE, one of the "Shaheds" hit an apartment on the second floor of a high-rise in the Kyiv district, causing a fire. Fortunately, the apartment was uninhabited at the time.
"The apartment was severely damaged, and the third floor was also affected. The impact destroyed heating, electricity, and water supply networks, which have been temporarily shut down. Utility services are currently at work," Terekhov described the situation.
He mentioned that overnight, the Russians struck the city four times. One of the "Shaheds" hit the road on the central Sumskaya street, damaging the pavement. Almost all windows were shattered in the nearby high-rise building. Two more strikes targeted the Kyiv district near a café.
The State Emergency Service reported that one of the Russian drones hit a 9-story residential building in the Kyiv district. A fire broke out on the second floor, engulfing an area of 50 square meters. Five residents of the building were rescued, and two individuals sustained injuries.
As reported by "Telegraph," on February 24, the Russians struck Kharkiv with a KAB (guided aerial bomb). A civilian facility was targeted in the attack.
