Strike on Sumy: the number of casualties and injuries has once again increased (UPDATED).

This was stated by the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, according to "Suspilne".

Updated at 8:53. According to data from the Sumy Regional Military Administration, 84 people sustained injuries of varying severity as a result of the Russian attack. The Sumy City Council reports a total of 89 injured. Currently, 11 individuals are in intensive care, including 6 children.

Efforts to eliminate the aftermath of the shelling are still ongoing. An operational response headquarters has been established. All necessary assistance is being provided to the people.

About the attack

At approximately 20:37 on November 17, Russian forces launched a missile strike on a densely populated residential area in Sumy. The strike damaged at least 10 apartment buildings and several vehicles.

It is known that among the deceased are children—a 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.

Law enforcement agencies have initiated a pre-trial investigation regarding the violation of the laws and customs of war related to intentional murder—this falls under part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
