Trump has nominated a new U.S. Attorney General, selecting one of his own lawyers for the position.

Trump wrote about this on his page on Truth Social.

He noted that during her 20 years of service, Bondi was "very tough on violent criminals" and made Florida's streets safer for families. According to Trump, she fought against the trafficking of deadly drugs, particularly fentanyl.

"For too long, the biased Department of Justice has been weaponized against me and other Republicans — that will no longer be the case. Pam will refocus the DOJ on its mission — fighting crime and restoring safety in America," wrote the newly elected President of the United States.

It should be noted that Trump's previous nominee for Attorney General, Matt Gaetz, withdrew his candidacy. He was previously accused of having sex with a minor. Earlier, the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post reported that the House Ethics Committee heard testimony from a witness who saw Matt Gaetz engaging in sexual activities with a 17-year-old girl at a party in 2017, when he was serving in Congress. At that time, the politician was 35 years old.
