"Russia and Ukraine must come to a halt": Trump once again vowed to end the conflict.

He spoke about this at a ceremonial event at his Mar-a-Lago residence, quotes CNN.

According to Trump, his team will "work very hard on Russia and Ukraine".

“This has to stop. Russia and Ukraine need to cease,” he stated and added: — “Whether it's soldiers or people sitting in cities.”

Additionally, during the event, Trump joked that since his election, things in the country have been going very well, so, in his view, his term should be considered as starting on election day, November 5.

“The only thing, Mr. Speaker, I think it’s important, maybe you should pass a bill — you should start my term from November 5, okay? Or November 6, if you like. November 5, because the market has skyrocketed and enthusiasm has doubled in this short time,” the president said.

Trump and Ukraine

The stance of Republican Donald Trump and his team towards Ukraine remains ambiguous. During the election campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly claimed that he would "end the war" if reelected, without disclosing what exactly he would do.

He asserted that he could stop the war in 24 hours, particularly due to his good relations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

At the same time, Trump threatened to halt financial aid to Ukraine and "withdraw" from the Russia-Ukraine war.

During the debate with Joe Biden on June 28, he called Putin's demands for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from occupied regions and Ukraine's refusal to join NATO "unacceptable". James DeVance, whom Trump chose as his vice-presidential candidate, voiced the opposite opinion, suggesting a freeze on hostilities at the current front line and Ukraine's refusal to join NATO.

According to media reports, Trump's advisors presented a plan stating that if he is reelected, he will provide Ukraine with additional military aid only if Kyiv agrees to negotiate with Moscow.

After Trump's victory, another plan proposed by his advisors came to light. It stipulates that Kyiv must promise not to join NATO for at least 20 years, and in exchange, the U.S. would continue to send weapons to Ukraine. Russia and Ukraine are supposedly to agree on a demilitarized zone of over 1200 km.

It remains unclear which of these strategies Trump will adhere to and whether he will act on any of them at all.
