Over Ukraine, mysterious aircraft are frequently reported. On Monday, February 21, a passenger aircraft from the Russian airline "Aeroflot" (flight AFL520) allegedly flew over Ukrainian territory while en route from Moscow to Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
This is evidenced by data from flightradar. According to them, the plane departed from Moscow, and during its flight to the UAE, radars detected it in Ukrainian airspace. Specifically, it reportedly entered from the Krasnodar region and flew over occupied Crimea and the Donetsk region.
Since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine's airspace has remained closed. However, air traffic monitoring systems periodically identify civilian aircraft over various regions of Ukraine.
There are several possible explanations for this phenomenon. Firstly, it may be related to the transmission of incorrect coordinates for the aircraft's location. Secondly, technical malfunctions at ground signal reception stations could be the cause. Additionally, disruptions in the GPS system may influence this phenomenon. Other contributing factors could include the intensive use of electronic warfare (EW) systems or technical difficulties in processing information by air traffic monitoring systems.
As reported by "Telegraph," on February 21, a passenger aircraft from the Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines was detected in Ukrainian skies. While en route from Moscow to Istanbul (Turkey), the plane allegedly flew over the Kyiv region.
