The MIA will investigate its prosecutor accused of harassment, according to Reuters.

Among the countries that have ratified the Rome Statute, an internal document has been circulated calling for Khan to temporarily step down from his duties during the investigation. Instead, he could allow one of his deputies to fulfill the role of prosecutor.

It remains unclear whether the court's leadership has approached the chief prosecutor with a request for resignation.

A source for Reuters claims that the potential victim in Khan's case is unsure about the independence of the court's internal body, as its new head previously worked in Khan's office, which allegedly led to a leak of information regarding the harassment allegations.

Allegations Against Karim Khan

The Guardian, citing officials from the ICC, diplomats, and friends of the potential victim, reported on allegations of sexual harassment against ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan.

According to the publication, a woman described as a credible lawyer in her 30s, who worked directly for Khan, accused him of unwanted sexual touching and "violence" over an extended period. Documents obtained by the court referenced an incident during which Khan allegedly "inserted his tongue" into the woman's ear.

After this, the ICC Chief Prosecutor reportedly tried to persuade the victim to withdraw her claims. Khan himself denies all accusations, and his lawyers are concerned that the disclosure of a "confidential and sealed internal case" is intended to undermine his "high-profile current work at a sensitive time."
