Erdogan on changes in Russia's nuclear doctrine: NATO needs to take this into consideration.

This was stated by him at a press conference following the conclusion of the G20 summit, as quoted by the Turkish publication Milliyet.

According to the Turkish president, Russia is taking such measures to protect itself. Erdoğan emphasized that Russia has the capability to defend itself and should possess it, just like Turkey. At the same time, NATO officials need to consider changes to the Russian doctrine.

Erdoğan also expressed hope that a final ceasefire in the war with Russia could soon be established in Ukraine and peace ensured.

As a reminder, on November 19, the head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed a decree approving the updated nuclear doctrine of Russia. His press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, stated that if the Armed Forces of Ukraine use Western non-nuclear missiles against Russia, then, according to the new doctrine, Russia may respond with a nuclear strike.
