What do Germans think about the results of the parliamentary elections?

The correspondent from Novini.LIVE spoke with several Germans who participated in the voting.

Germany Elections 2025

One of the voters shared that she went to the polls because she wanted "something to change" in the country. According to her, the main factor in choosing a candidate was all the social issues, particularly education.

"If we do not invest in education, any country will fall into decline. After all, it determines what the country will be like in the future. Changes can only happen when people can express their thoughts — objectively or even subjectively," said the woman.

In the opinion of this German citizen, education is the only way to foster a healthier perception of reality among people, and therefore the state should pay the most attention to it.

Currently, many young people in Germany often leave school without a diploma. Voters find it unacceptable that individuals do not receive a certificate and note that this is the "root of all problems," particularly the dependency of citizens on state support.

Another voter shared that he received a poor education, and people like him realize that they must take care of themselves. However, according to him, Germany is a social state and does not leave anyone without food and shelter.

"I never thought that the state should provide for me. Why? It is my responsibility," he added.

When asked by a journalist whether anything would change in the relationship between Germany and Ukraine after the elections, citizens of the country responded that it depends on the situation. Some German parties clearly stand in support of Ukraine.

Germans are convinced that a country that has been attacked needs help and support in any possible way.

"I don't want to go into details about the methods of assistance, but overall, help is important. Always," noted another surveyed voter.

As a reminder, Scholz delivered a speech during which he congratulated Friedrich Merz on his likely victory. He also expressed concern about the high rating of Alice Weidel, who supports Russia.

In the Novini.LIVE article, we wrote about the leading candidate in the German elections, Merz. He is known for his support of Ukraine in its defense against Russia's armed aggression.
