Borrell posted a photo from the Kyiv train station and noted that this is his fifth visit to Ukraine since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion.
“Support for Ukraine from the EU has been my personal priority during my mandate and will remain at the forefront of the EU agenda,” he stated.
Previously, Borrell assured Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga that he would visit Ukraine before the end of his mandate, once military aid to Ukraine from the EU, currently blocked by Hungary, can be unblocked, as reported by Ukrinform.
Recall that back in June, EU leaders supported the re-election of Ursula von der Leyen as President of the European Commission, the appointment of former Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa as President of the European Council, and the EU approved the position for Estonia's Prime Minister Kaja Kallas to succeed Borrell.
