Over 40 generals have been dismissed from the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to health issues since the onset of the full-scale war, according to Radio Free Europe.

This was reported to Radio Free Europe by the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The data covers the period from February 24, 2022, to August 1, 2024. During this time, only one senior military officer has been accepted into military service.

As noted by Radio Free Europe, the senior officer corps typically includes officers holding strategic command positions or possessing high military ranks, such as major general, lieutenant general, and colonel general.

It is worth mentioning that in early November, it became known that Lieutenant General and former Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Sodol had likely resigned from the Armed Forces based on a decision from the military medical commission.

Subsequently, Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmytro Marchenko, who led the successful defense of Mykolaiv in 2022, also announced his resignation from service due to health reasons.
