This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with journalist Piers Morgan on Wednesday, February 5.
According to Zelensky, the current level of international support is insufficient to completely oust Putin. Nevertheless, he is convinced that Ukraine will eventually reclaim its territories.
"If our partners put pressure on Putin, if President Trump, Prime Minister Starmer, leaders of the EU, Global South, Arab countries, China, and Latin America decide to press him hard enough, Putin will be forced to retreat immediately," said Zelensky.
He also added that if the international community is not ready to confront Putin together, Ukraine will rely on its own strength. Zelensky expressed confidence that justice will ultimately prevail.
"When asked what Ukraine is prepared for, — Ukraine is primarily ready for the end of the hot phase of this war. We, more than anyone in the world, desire peace, because the war is taking place on our land," emphasized the head of state.
Recall that in the interview, the Ukrainian leader also stated that Russians want to turn Ukraine into Chechnya. According to Zelensky, Putin aims to take control of the territories and is not striving for peace.
Moreover, the president stressed that Ukraine could lose territories due to delays or restrictions in aid from the United States. Zelensky also noted that this would affect European leaders and weaken the entire coalition.
