As reported by Novini.LIVE on Thursday, February 27.

The underground school in Kharkiv is expanding

With the addition of new classrooms, students will be able to attend school not just two or three days a week, but four days. The number of lessons for both primary and secondary schools will also increase.

The opening was attended by the city mayor, Igor Terekhov. He mentioned that there are currently 768 children enrolled in the school, and they plan to construct several more underground schools in the Shevchenkivskyi and Saltivskyi districts, as well as in Zhyhor.

"Unfortunately, we are forced to build underground schools because we cannot teach children in regular buildings due to the safety situation," Terekhov explained.

Let us remind you that Kharkiv plans to establish three more underground schools. We also reported that in Zaporizhzhia, the construction of the first underground school is nearing completion. It will serve as a reliable shelter and a modern educational space for 1,000 children.
