The British Foreign Office stated that Putin is not taking negotiations seriously.

This was stated by the British Foreign Secretary David Lammy on Wednesday, February 5, as reported by Sky News.

Is Putin Ready for Negotiations with Ukraine?

According to Lammy, Russian leader Putin does not take potential negotiations and peace seriously, despite Russia's claims of readiness for talks.

"We do not see Russia as serious about negotiations or peace. The conditions that were put forward by Putin last year cannot serve as a basis for talks. It is unrealistic to expect that a sovereign nation would agree to them," said the Foreign Secretary.

Lammy also added that he has no doubts about the prospect of peace in Ukraine. He stated that the United Kingdom will certainly play a significant role in ensuring that Putin does not return again.

It is worth noting that Andrey Sibiga held a joint press conference with David Lammy, where they discussed concrete actions to achieve a just peace in Ukraine.

Furthermore, the United Kingdom announced a new aid package for Ukraine, with partners allocating an additional £55 million.
