"I would like to emphasize that the economic justification and the amount the city loses from this decision is quite critical," said the head of the KGGA.
In his view, suspending public transport during alerts would make sense if it also applied to private carriers, not just municipal ones.
Therefore, Tkachenko believes it is necessary to reconsider this decision and find an optimal solution that suits the residents of Kyiv at this time. He noted that the petitions being created and the issues being raised are significant to the city's residents, and the authorities should at least listen to them.
"When I found out that the decision was lenient, none of those who voted for it could provide me with documents that would confirm the effectiveness or analysis of this decision," the official added.
Earlier, the first deputy chairman of the KGGA, Mykola Povoroznyk, stated that due to the suspension of transport during alerts, Kyiv lost about 8 billion hryvnias.
He also reported a problem with attracting more workers for public transport.
