This was reported by the First Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration, Mykola Povoroznyk, during a round table discussion titled "Ensuring Reliable Public Transport Operations During Air Alerts in Kyiv," as conveyed by a correspondent from Novini.LIVE.
"Approximately 50% of drivers are currently lacking for public transport in Kyiv," said the Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration.
Povoroznyk explained that one solution to ensure the constant movement of buses in the capital, regardless of alerts, could be to increase the number of vehicles. However, the challenge lies in attracting more workers.
At the same time, he added that during the full-scale war, passengers on public transport in Kyiv have not been harmed. Partially, this is due to the fact that all transport halts during air alerts.
Recall that Mykola Povoroznyk also mentioned the losses due to transport stoppages during alerts, with figures reaching into the billions.
Meanwhile, Kyiv City Council member Andriy Vitrenko advocated for the cancellation of public transport stoppages during air alert signals. The deputies even prepared a corresponding resolution.
