What is known about the new US sanctions

Donald Trump has extended the duration of several sanctions previously imposed on Russia for another year.

"In accordance with Section 202(d) of the Emergency Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am renewing the state of emergency declared by Executive Order 13660 for 1 year", the document states.

It will be published tomorrow, February 28.

Recall that recently Australia announced the imposition of the largest package of sanctions since 2022 against 70 individuals and 79 organizations linked to Russia.

Additionally, EU representatives have agreed on the 16th package of sanctions against Russia for its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
