Sibiga discussed the United States' interest in Ukraine following the war.

Andrey Sibiga mentioned this during a joint press conference with the UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

Ukraine Offers Partners More Than Just Minerals

According to the Ukrainian minister, President Zelensky's Victory Plan includes a section on natural resources. Specifically, it addresses investment opportunities for our partners to collaboratively develop this project. After all, it is our common strategic interest.

"This also serves as an element of guarantees for the presence of large businesses in Ukraine, significant interests, and the engagement of our closest allies — the USA — in the development and protection of such deposits," explained Sibiga.

However, he noted that the scope of common interests and mutually beneficial cooperation extends beyond these resources. Following the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine, we have immense potential for purchasing LNG from the same USA.

"Ukraine possesses extremely powerful underground gas storage facilities, and here too we have common grounds for mutually beneficial cooperation, simultaneously enhancing Europe's energy security. Because there will be enough gas if it is pumped into our storage facilities to allow Ukraine to play the role of a guarantor of energy security in Europe," stated Sibiga.

Reconstruction of Ukraine — A US Interest

Moreover, he stated that there is a mutual interest and opportunities for American businesses in the reconstruction of Ukraine. The minister is convinced that this will be one of the largest projects of this century, hence one of the most significant opportunities for Ukraine's allies.

"There is also interest in frozen assets, particularly their use for purchasing weapons for our needs," Sibiga concluded.

Recall that during the joint press conference with British colleague David Lammy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga commented on a potential meeting and dialogue with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

During the "Ukrainian Week in Washington" events, it became known that the administration of new US President Donald Trump suspended a number of aid programs for Ukraine. In particular, these include programs aimed at prosecuting and uncovering Russia's military crimes and restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure following attacks by Russians.
