Poroshenko could be barred from parliamentary sessions—what's the reason behind this?

This was reported by people's deputy Nikolai Knyazhitsky on Facebook on Thursday, January 30.

Poroshenko May Be Barred from Parliament Sessions

Knyazhitsky noted that deputies from the Opposition Platform — For Life (OPZZH), with the backing of the "Servants of the People," voted to deprive Petro Poroshenko of the opportunity to attend sessions of the Verkhovna Rada. The final decision is to be made by parliament — a vote could take place as early as next week.

Poroshenko's Conflict with Yaremenko

39 deputies from the "Servant of the People" initiated Poroshenko's suspension following his altercation with Bohdan Yaremenko. A heated exchange escalated into profanity directed at Yaremenko. Subsequently, a request was made to the regulations committee to prohibit Poroshenko from participating in the sessions of the Verkhovna Rada.

It is worth noting that earlier, the head of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy in the Rada, Anastasia Radina, urged Rustem Umerov to resign. This call came after the defense minister independently decided to appoint a new head of the State Procurement Agency.

The Verkhovna Rada also supported draft law No. 11321, which aims to open committee meetings to journalists and media representatives.
