Tusk: The Volhynia tragedy should not be used as a pawn in political games.

This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, January 15.

Tusk emphasized that he will not allow the Volhynian tragedy to be dragged into political games. He added that the countries are currently finding common ground on this matter and are working towards a solution. Tusk noted that these historical events are significant for Poland and require empathy from Ukraine and vice versa.

"There is a clear problem and a need that must be addressed so that Polish families can properly bury their loved ones who were victims of the Volhynian tragedy," Tusk remarked.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that work is ongoing and materials are being prepared. According to him, Russia is the main threat to both Ukraine and Poland, and there is a need to unite against it.

"We must do everything to strengthen our alliance," Zelensky said.

At the same time, Donald Tusk pointed out that Ukraine's accession to the European Union also represents security for Poland. He labeled those who do not understand this as traitors or fools.
