The video was published on the YouTube channel Lex Fridman on Sunday, January 19.
The podcaster noted that he gave Volodymyr Zelensky a chance to demonstrate to Trump and Putin his willingness to negotiate. Instead, Fridman stated, the Ukrainian leader "started cursing at Putin" and showed disrespect towards the Kremlin dictator.
"This is quite understandable, but it is not directly productive for negotiations. To clarify, I have had many conversations that intensely criticized Vladimir Putin, from Serhiy Plokhiy to Stephen Kotkin, but this conversation with a world leader, who is speaking about another world leader, during a historic opportunity for peace. Disrespectful harsh words, though strong, can be damaging to negotiations," Fridman noted.
We remind you that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during an interview with American podcaster Lex Fridman, repeatedly resorted to cursing. An expert explained that the head of state likely spoke this way to ensure "he was heard."
On social media, Lex Fridman was criticized for the questions he posed to the Ukrainian leader. For instance, the American podcaster asked whether Ukrainians could "just forgive Russia."
