Ukrainian military officials have stated that after several days of fighting, progress remains limited. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have yet to achieve significant successes. Meanwhile, Russian forces are actively attacking Ukrainian troops, utilizing artillery and drones.
Units with North Korean forces are employing tactics of mass assaults, moving in large groups that outnumber Ukrainian forces.
Ukrainian military sources report that Russia is ignoring issues within its troops and continues its aggressive offensive even after sustaining heavy losses.
According to one Ukrainian soldier, the operations of the North Koreans have proven partially effective due to their discipline and willingness to fight to the end. In some instances, they resorted to using grenades on themselves to avoid capture.
Despite this, the Ukrainian army inflicts significant losses on the enemy. In particular, a considerable number of Russian and North Korean troops have been destroyed, along with units from the 810th Brigade of the Russian Naval Infantry.
The article noted that holding Kursk is dictated not only by military but also by political necessity, as a retreat could provide Russia with new opportunities for further offensive operations.
"Ukraine's constant focus on Kursk indicates how crucial it is for Kyiv to maintain control over this territory, especially considering that the impending return of Trump may increase pressure on both sides to come to the negotiating table. Ukrainian officials have also warned that if their troops retreat across the border, the 60,000 troops that, according to Kyiv, Russia has deployed, will follow them into Ukraine and occupy more territory," the article states.
Let us remind you that fighters from the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Mahura" showed the destruction of Russian troops during an assault in the Kursk region.
Additionally, the AFU delivered a precise strike on the command post of the 810th Separate Brigade of the Russian Army's Naval Infantry in the Kursk region.
