Hero of Kruty Remembrance Day: Are people in Lviv aware of their heroic deeds?

Novyny.LIVE asked people on the streets of Lviv what they know about this date.

Day of Remembrance for the Heroes of Kruty

Some respondents recalled that on this day students and cadets fought against the Bolsheviks and died for a free Ukraine. Others admitted they had heard of this date but hadn't looked into the details.

"I live on Heroes of Kruty Street, but not in Lviv, rather in eastern Ukraine. Honestly, I don't know the details of the story about the Heroes of Kruty," said a young woman.

"The students near Kruty went to Kyiv to defend Ukraine, and that’s where they died," shared a man.

"The students at Kruty rose up for Ukraine and perished there. They died for a free Ukraine, for which we stand today," added a woman.

"Unfortunately, I don't know much, and I haven't been interested in this event," said a Lviv resident.

"I know that around 300 students fought near Kruty against the then government," recalled another woman.
