The UK will fund the production of air defense systems and long-range weapons in Ukraine, according to Umerov.

This was reported by Ukraine's Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.

He shared that he arrived in the UK on January 13 for a working visit, where he met with Secretary of State for Defense John Healey. The main topic of discussion was the alignment of plans for bilateral cooperation in 2025 across key security areas.

Umerov emphasized that the UK has already invested in the production of Ukrainian weapons, and this collaboration is ongoing: specifically, funding will now be directed towards the production of air defense/anti-missile systems and long-range weapons.

The Minister of Defense stated that the UK has confirmed its readiness to provide ongoing and comprehensive support to strengthen Ukraine's positions both on the battlefield and on the international stage.

“We expect an increase in military, political, and economic assistance from our British allies this year,” Umerov concluded.

Additionally, at the end of 2024, Ukraine received over 150 million euros from Denmark, France, and Lithuania for financing weapon production: missiles, drones-deepstrike, and artillery systems.
