The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported this information.

Currently, the rescue operation in the city is ongoing, and updates on the number of casualties are being provided continuously.

Updated at 20:27. According to the Regional State Administration, the number of injured has reached 63 people.

At least 4 individuals have been hospitalized in serious condition. Among the injured is a 13-year-old girl. She was hospitalized, and medical professionals are assessing her condition as moderate.

At the site, police, rescuers, medical personnel, and other relevant services are working to mitigate the aftermath of the attack. They are clearing debris, searching for people, and providing assistance to the injured. In particular, police paramedics rescued 5 individuals.

President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the attack's victims.

“Unfortunately, the number of casualties may rise. There is nothing more brutal than aerial bombs falling on a city, knowing that ordinary civilians will suffer. Pressure must be applied to Russia for its acts of terror. It is essential to maintain the protection of lives in Ukraine. Such a war can only be concluded with a reliable peace through strength,” he wrote.

What is known about the attack?

Around 16:00, Russian troops began shelling the city of Zaporizhzhia with KAB bombs. Two aerial bombs struck residential buildings.

As a result of the shelling, several multi-story buildings, an industrial facility, and other city infrastructure were destroyed. Debris hit a tram and a minibus with passengers. Vehicles parked nearby were also damaged.
