Polsat reports on this, citing a statement from the Polish minister.
Recently, the WarNewsPL channel released a recording on the X platform showing two Rosomak wheeled armored personnel carriers adorned with UPA flags.
This equipment was provided to Ukraine by Poland following the onset of the full-scale invasion. According to the Polish president's office, Poland has supplied 100 of these vehicles.
The Polish Minister of Defense reacted to the video featuring UPA flags on Polish machinery, labeling it as a "provocation that should not exist." He stated that he has instructed to urgently contact the Ukrainian attaché in Warsaw "to clarify this issue."
During World War II, under German occupation, several partisan movements operated in Ukraine. These included the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the Polish Home Army. They primarily conducted their struggle in Volhynia.
At that time, both sides carried out mutual ethnic cleansing, justifying it as revenge for past repressions and current killings. According to data from the Institute of History of Ukraine, this was one of the bloody episodes of the Ukrainian-Polish conflict during World War II.
Polish estimates indicate that at least 35,000 people lost their lives in this tragedy from the Polish side, with 18,000 identified, while the Ukrainian side suffered casualties in the thousands. Meanwhile, according to data from the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) project, between 9,000 and 10,000 Ukrainians were killed.
